Still Good Food Shopping Bags
From Saturday 1st May we have introduced our very own Still Good Food jute shopping bags.
This initiative is to help ensure a more even distribution of our food to all our customers and we are asking for all users of the shop to use the new bags.
We are asking for a donation of £1 for the bags and once you have one please bring it with you every time you shop with us.

Shop Opening Hours
We were very pleased to reopen the shop at the end of June 2020 and have now extended our hours.
In order to comply with government guidelines, we have made a few changes to the way we operate:
We request that all customers and volunteers wear a face covering when they are in the shop, if at all possible.
Only one customer or volunteer is allowed in the shop at a time.
Customers are asked to purchase and use their own Still Good Food shopping bag. These are available at the shop for a donation of £1. Please bring it back with you every time you shop.
Customers are asked to comply with social distancing guidelines whilst queuing and entering/exiting the shop.
Customers are asked to please use the hand sanitizer when entering the shop.
Dear friends and supporters of our shop.
The main aim of Still Good Food is to ensure that edible food is not wasted by diverting it from being thrown away, however we realise that we are also a very important community asset supporting people who are on low incomes and struggling to feed themselves and their families.
In order to continue the valued work of the project we need to be able to cover the costs of running the shop and work towards the shop becoming self funding. To help support this, from April 2019 we asked our customers to make a minimum donation of £1 per shopping bag of food. (If customers are able to make larger donations, then this is very much appreciated).
We would also ask all customers to be mindful of how many items you take, especially if you are fortunate enough to be near the front of the queue and there are other people waiting; they would like to have a good choice of items too.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
Who We Are
We at Still Good Food are a driven group of individuals from all walks of life, joined together by our passion for stopping food from being wasted when it is still perfectly good to eat and making sure it gets to people who will appreciate it, whether that's for environmental reasons or financial reasons.
We want to do our part to make the world a better place for all by reducing food waste and educating people about food labelling and making the most of what they have.
If you feel able to help us either in the shop or with the collection of food from various supermarkets, etc, we would love to have you on board.

Education on Food Waste
What you can do to help save food from being thrown away
We can all do more to help reduce food waste. The more we understand about labels and what food should smell and look like, especially after the best before date on the packaging, the better we will be able to make decisions on what we can still safely use and what really is ready to go in the bin.
It all comes down to education.
A hub for food waste in the community
Still Good Food work alongside a number of other local organisations to be a connection and information point in the community between the public and other food waste organisations.
